Top Cloud

Yesterday we headed to Taunton Racecourse with Top Cloud for the 'Nightigale Storage Novices Handicap Hurdle '. In the green and white colours of the 'On The Gallops' syndicate, partnered again by Liam Harrison, who has ridden him on his four starts for us.

' Top Cloud' was purchased at the 'Goffs May Sale' by myself, and Dan Astbury, and continued to progress since joining the yard. He is one of two horses purchased for our first group of syndicate owners.

Having won his first two starts for us, he finished 3rd on his last run at Huntingdon. We changed tactics that day, dropping him in, hoping this would help him settle in his races. Unfortunately this didnt pay off.

So yesterday we reverted back to riding him handy, and Liam was able to get him into a lovely rhythm and set his own fractions. He jumped very well, and showed a great attitude to get himself back in front, after being headed.

Yesterday made it three wins from four runs for us.

'Top Cloud' is obviously on an upward curve, and we are excited about his future. He will stay over hurdles this season, and look to go chasing next season.

We have recently purchased another horse for the On The Gallops syndicate 'Hermes Le Gris', a grey 6yr old gelding that we are also excited about. If you would like more information about him, and how to get involved, please visit the website:

Robbies Review

Yesterday we headed to Ludlow Racecourse with one runner - 'Feel the pinch' for the 'Flowfit Handicap Chase.

He joined us back in March this year, and this was his 10th run for our stable. He is a lovely horse, with a great attitude, making him very straight forward to train.

Though the distance and ground were well suited to him yesterday, he was up in grade, and off a career high mark, and we felt this would be a tough race to win. However he travelled and jumped his way into the race under a very confident ride by Toby Wynne to win by 6 lengths.

This marked his fifth win for us. It was made extra special to have his owner Mr Brian Jones there to watch him win. His form figures read an impressive 13u3116191.

To win 5 races with any horse is a fantastic achievement, and a lot of credit has to go to our team of staff who have done a great job with him.Toby Wynne has formed a great relationship with him, winning 4 from 5 rides on him. He is a young jockey going places, and we will continue to support him going forward.

We will now wait to see what the handicapper does from this win, before we find our next suitable opportunity.
